Clothing — pack for layers, not seasons
Six weeks on UK sites means you'll see rain, sun, frost and back again. Pack five workwear sets (rotated through the washer mid-week), two casual evening outfits, and one smart set for site meetings or client dinners.
Trainers for the evenings, steel-toes for site. A pair of slippers seems daft until you've done six weeks of cold tile floors at 5am.
Kitchen kit — the small things that matter
Every Trade Nest Stays property has a full kitchen, but bring your favourite mug, a sharp knife, and a small Tupperware for packed lunches. Hotel rooms force you into takeaways; a kitchen lets you cook proper food. Bring one or two dried-goods staples (porridge oats, coffee, tea bags) for the first morning before you've shopped.
Tech — power, signal, sanity
A multi-socket extension is the single most useful thing you'll bring. UK properties often have one socket per room and you're charging two phones, a laptop, a power bank, and a Bluetooth speaker. Bring an HDMI cable for the TV — work-from-the-couch is much nicer than at the kitchen table.
If you depend on mobile data for work calls, check the property's WiFi speed before booking — every TNS partner property is tagged with WiFi speed alongside the basics.
The little extras that make a stay feel like home
A photo or two for the bedside. A favourite shower gel. A book that has nothing to do with work. Six weeks is long enough that the temporary will start to feel permanent — small comforts make a big difference.
