Parking on UK Streets When You've Got a Work Van

Trade vans don't always fit a standard parking bay. Here's how to handle parking when you're staying in a city centre.

Parking on UK Streets When You've Got a Work Van

Check before you book

Trade Nest Stays partner properties list 'parking spaces' explicitly — including how many vehicles fit and whether they're off-road or on-street. If you've got a Sprinter or a Transit, mention it on your quote request and we'll match you to a property with adequate space.

Residents-permit zones

Many UK city centres are residents-permit only on streets. Partner properties in those zones usually have a visitor-permit scheme — your host will explain how to use it. Don't park without checking, the parking fines add up fast (£60-90 a pop).

Tool security

If you're parked on-street with £8k of tools in the back, get a deadlock and a steering lock. Park reversed against a wall where possible. Some partner hosts let you store tools in a locked outbuilding overnight — ask.
