Sleep Quality on the Road — Practical Tips for Contractors

Mattress and bedding — what to look for

A hotel bed is a hotel bed. A serviced house is more variable. When booking, ask what the mattress age and firmness is. Quality partner hosts replace mattresses every 5-7 years; the better ones tell you.

Bring your own pillow if you're staying 2+ weeks. It's the cheapest sleep upgrade you'll ever make.

Block out light and noise

Pack a sleep mask and earplugs. A 4am rubbish truck or 6am sunlight through thin curtains can wreck a week. Some partner properties offer blackout blinds — flag this on your quote request if it matters.

Wind-down rituals

Same bedtime each night. No screens in the last 30 minutes. A hot shower. Boring? Yes. It also massively improves how you function on a 6am start the next day.
