If you're alone, only staying a night or two, don't have a car, and need to be next to the train station — Travelodge is genuinely good value. Sub-£60/night in many cities and minimal fuss.
Trade Nest Stays wins for: 2+ people, 3+ nights, vehicles
Two people in two Travelodge rooms: ~£120/night. One whole TNS house with 4 bedrooms: ~£175/night. Add a third or fourth person and the maths becomes ridiculous. Free van parking, kitchen, washer — none of which Travelodge offers.
The crossover point
Roughly: 2 people staying 3+ nights, or any group of 3+. Below that, Travelodge often wins on price. Above that, serviced houses win on price AND comfort.
